Happy Halloween

We had a great time trick or treating last night, and we now have way TOO much candy. We put it in a five gallon bucket.... it's about 2/3 full. It is now locked in my bedroom because Kimber will open a piece of candy take a bite, lick it and then just leave it on the floor.
We went to 3 Halloween parties, 1 trunk or treat and then of course actual trick or treating.

Tucker initially wanted to be a Monster, but after I made Kimber's costume he decided that maybe he wanted to be captin hook instead. He switched back and forth alot so I decided not to start on his costume until he really decided. Before I knew it was 3 days until our first party. Oops.

So, he confirmed that Yes he wanted to be captin hook and then I spent the next two days sewing.
He wasn't excited about his costume at all.... until I made his boot covers. Apparently your not really a pirate until you have the right boots.

This is our second party. I am attatching Kimbers wings. They are in pretty bad shape now. Hey, what can you expect when you pay $1 at the dollar store for a pair of wings. I made her costume about a month or so back.... she grew since then. Her dress was much more of a shirt when she put it on for halloween so she had to wear pants with it.
Her outfit was So much easier than Tuckers. I only spent about 4 hours on Kimber's costume. But Tuckers was alot more fun to make.

I have to admit, I am quite proud of my creations. So today I am going to charge the camera, dress the kids up and take some pictures.
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween

California

We went to California a while ago. Sorry I haven't posted yet.
I promise more pics will follow but I just had to get this video up.
Tucker is so proud of himself.
Tucker met a kid named Nate at the pool (5 yrs old). Nate could jump in the water and go under the water so of course Tucker had to keep up, luckily Tucker could touch the bottom of the pool. He thinks he is big buisness now.
He was SO SO upset when we had to leave this pool.

Kids being kids.

Well... I have bought more picture storage space for my blog.
But I havn't uploaded the pictures from my camera.
So
I've posted some pictures from Decmeber
And then I had these radom pictures of the kids
I'll upload pictures from my camera later and post them and tell you all about it.

Tucker and Kimber taking a bath in early January. Still very much obsessed with Santa.

Both my kids just love baths and come running as soon as you turn the water on.
You may think I'm being a nice mom and letting them have bubble baths all the time, but in truth they have to take bubble baths. Why? because it hides the drain, if Kimber can see the drain she pulls the plug and then I get angry chants from the bathroom and go in to find an empty tub.

Tucker feeding Kimber bubbles. That wont hurt them right?

Tucker loves the move 'how to train you Dragon' And decided to wear the semi trailer on his leg so he could have a "hurt" leg like hiccup.

Tucker loves Kimber and Kimber sure loves Tucker
Well..... most of the time.

I've started doing laundry at night, because there is just something irresistable about laundry.

Love my kids.
Will update blog later.

Tucker's first sleep-over Dec14

Forgot to mention.
Out neighbors had us watch their son on Dec 14 when she went into labor.
So Dresdon got to stay the night.
Tucker was SO excited.
He kept asking "Dresdon doesn't have to go home?"
We played with trains for a long time. Both Dresdon and Tucker love trains.

Both Tucker and Dresdon get a little annoyed when Kimber get's too involved.

Then we watched a movie Dresdon had brought over.... What about?
Trains

They ate that whole bowl of popcorn.

They thought they were so bit. And I let them stay up till 9

Then I put them in bed.
Well, I should have know, after all I used to have sleep overs once, but those munchkins were still laughing and giggling at 11.

And here is a picture of Kimber. Just had to throw it in. She loves dolls. Her favorite game is to hug the doll and then hand it over to you to hug the doll. She'll pass the doll back and forth like that for like 45 min.

My new hobby.

GUM PASTE!
It's like fondant... but much more fun!
This was my first try at a gum paste rose.

I thought it turned out pretty good.

So today I tried again.
I like this one much better

I rolled it out alot thinner

More flowers. in various stages of bloom.
Tucker ate the purple one today.
They taste ok.... but not super great...
I'll have to work on that

Nana and Papa to visit

Papa, Nana and aunt Kara came to visit after Christmas. We had prime rib for Papa's birthday on the 26th. Dusty thinks this is a great tradition.

Kimber took a strong liking to Grandpa Orr and liked to sit on his lap.

As always, I count on Nana taking pictures. So I'll have to ask Nana for some. Our scout out Kara's facebook page.

Christmas 2010

Just a few Picture from Christmas.
I had to work Christmas Eve this year, so we asked Santa to some early. So he swung by the house on the 23rd of December.

Tucker was so excited. Kimber wasn't quite sure what was going on.

Tucker really wanted a combine for Christmas. So Santa came through on that, he also left a disc and several other things. What spoiled kids.

About 2 minutes into the unwrapping Kimber figured things out. 'Alright, I get to tear stuff apart'

Santa wrapped all of Tucker's presents in red and all of Kimber's in silver.
This package was meant for two.

And they both were more than happy to tear into it.

Dad and Tucker working the field

Dad was even suprised by how much Santa brought.

Nana sent Kimber this wagon, it came with a doll and a stuffed kitten. But the biggest hit was this wagon. Kimber sat in it pretty much the rest of the day. Tucker pulled her around for a while.

Merry Christmas.

Cruise to see Santa

Before Cristmas
Last year we heard about an even in Cour d'Alene called "cruise to see Santa"
This year we decided to check it out.
We stayed at the Cour d'Alene resort and got a package deal that covered the room, 2 meals and the "cruise"

When we Arived we went to a little pizza place attatched to the hotel.
Tucker was so excited.
The entire place was coved in lights to play into the "cruise to see Santa" experience.

Tucker got to make his own pizza.

I helped out a little because Tucker put one sprinkle of cheese on and said he was done.
He really wanted to hurry up so he could watch them put it in the fire.

He eventually calmed down enough to finish his pizza. But then he was concerned because we couldn't get all of the toppings on.

The fire. where they cooked the pizza.

Tucker waiting excitedly for his pizza to be done.

Mom trying to take pictures in a restraunt without a flash to avoid being too much of a tourist.

And.... The hotel.
They upgraded us to a sweat. Nice.

And of all the things to be excited about..... They left CHOCOLATE on our pillows! Tucker was so excited and devoured the chocolate promptly upon entering the room.

Tucker on the lower level of the room by the balcony

Checking out the beds.

Sorry, my camera isn't good with night pictures. But this was the view from our balcony. We didn't think we would need a balcony because it was cold. But it was nice to look out and see all of the lights and the ships going back and forth accross the lake.

Tucker and Kimber watching Rudolph while Dad went to get Grandpa from the airport.

Morning view from the balcony.

Our cruise ships. Waiting patiently until night fall.

I think it should be a given that in winter even the main pool should be heated.
But we had fun anyway.

Kimber was terrified of the grates in the floor, she would run up to them and stop and make you come get her. Eventually she got prave enought to get down on all floors and manuver accross them making sure not to touch them of course.
Silly girl.

Grandpa stayed with Kimber while she was napping and Tucker, dad and I went for a walk arount the dock. Which wrapps all the way around the backside of the hotel.

The bridge on the dock to let the boats out.

Tucker wanted to get on the boat right then and there.

Tucker refered to the hotel as a castle. Looks like one

While we waited for it to get dark, we hung out in the shopping area attached to the hotel.

And then the Sun went down. It was a perfect night. Cold of course, but with just a light snow.
Thank goodness, because the night we got to the hotel was awful.

Tucker and Grandpa getting a candy cane from the nutcracker.

the lights on the walkway down to the dock. They really go all out for this event.

Waiting in line. Tucker was so excited. Then an elf came out to tell us it was time to board the ships.

Even the inside of the "ships" were decorated.
We were the first ones on, so I picked out a nice seat by the window.... but..

Tucker prefered the one by the TV showing Christmas movies... sot that's where we sat and drank out hot cholate.

My appolagies in andvance.
Poor picture quality, but you'll get the idea.

As the boat pulled away from the dock, we passed all sorts of light displays and then the grinch came out to yell at us. He said we shouldn't go see Santa. But our boat didn't mind and we just kept moving.

We went up top while we passed all the lights to get a better look

Gently falling snow as we passed the lights.

We went back inside after passing the lights until we got closer to the North Pole.
As we got closer you could see the Giant Christmas Tree and Christmas island.

Tucker watching intently as Santa came out.

Santa then read the nice list. Tucker and Kimber were on it of course.

Tucker was so excited after hearing his name.

Kimber, not so much

We had a great time. We might have to take this trip again next year.

The next morning Tucker realy wanted to make a snowman. He had watched frosty the snow man on our little Cour d'Alene adventure.

The snow was really dry and I had to use a spray bottle to get it moist enough to stick together. Tucker was so happy about his snow man.
